Selling MY ART Online!

Hello everyone – long time no see. Welcome back to my blog!

OK so we have some things to catch up about. It’s summer now and I’m living in Boston (ooooh so fancy). During the year when I’m living at school, I work two part time jobs while doing school work full time (ugh). Now that it’s summer and I’m living away from home, I was thinking now would be a good time to really start focusing on my career. You know… after school. Which is super scary just so you know.

I’ve been doing a lot of graphic design and drawing and have been thinking about doing freelance full time. I have dreams to live in a van off the grid and just enjoy my life as much as I can. (I’ll explain the van dream in another post.)

So I’m away from home trying to make a name for myself and I decided to say f it to a part time job and am trying to make it on my own as a designer and artist. Well it’s been about a week and I’m doing poorly… I’m working every single day making designs and art and uploading them to sites to try and sell them and I’m even doing work on the freelance website UpWork. I’ve gotten one job so far on there which is super fun but I can’t seem to get an interview somewhere else which is super frustrating.

But I started selling my art online – like I said. I’m selling digital prints on Etsy, different art and designs on Redbubble and Society 6, and I’m even getting into surface pattern design and trying to sell fabric, wallpaper, and wrapping paper on Spoonflower. Please check out those hyperlinks if you’re interested – Spoonflower coming soon!

I realized the other night while drinking a glass of rose and eating Oreos that I needed something else. I’ve been promoting my work on my Pinterest but with little luck. I know this is going to take time and I’m ready to put in the work. But GOSH I’m concerned.

Anyway, I decided that I needed to come back to my blog. Connect with people more closely. When I go on Etsy or Redbubble I look at the art and I don’t feel a connection with it. But when I know that artist I want to buy it because it has a deeper connection to my life.

I want to create a super close knit community here where we can talk and share beautiful art!
